what is the surgery like to remove internal hemorrhoids?

I went to the dr today and had an exam. He said I have some pretty bad internal hemorrhoids and I should pry have them removed. I’m going to my surgeon (the man who did my appendectomy a month ago) on january 13th and I want to know the pros and cons of surgery and what kind of surgery would it be? Do they put me out and I go in an operating room or is it less serious? thanks

How long after a laser surgery for hemorrhoids and fissure before I can get back to normal day-to-day activities without too much discomfort?

Is it too late for Preparation H to work if the hemorrhoids are close to becoming external?

By close I mean near the entrance (or should I say exit?) of my rectum. There is no bleeding and I haven’t participated in anal intercourse.
Oh and I can’t see a doctor unless I absolutely have to because I have no health insurance nor a job.
